The first Christmas plate Bing & Grondahl in 1895 was built by Harald Bing, then President of Bing & Grondahl. With this dish, one of the most ancient and unbroken series of collectible porcelain dishes, began a Christmas tradition that caused early enthusiasm and appreciation worldwide.

The Bell is produced in limited quantities and production ends at the end of the year with the destruction of the original shape, making it therefore cannot playback.
To ensure authenticity the Bell bears the mark of Bing & Grondahl with three towers, inspired by the coat of arms of the city of Copenhagen and known worldwide as a symbol of Danish porcelain, and initials of the painter.
