The particular attachment that binds mother to her baby is the theme of the series of plates of "Mother's Day" that Bing&Grondahl began to produce since 1969. The reasons for these plates come every year from the animal world and the plate of Mother's Day 1985 "Bear with Cubs" is the 17th in the series.
The ornamental motif is in relief and the plate is decorated by hand in the classic cobalt blue shades applied undercoat. The plate was produced in limited quantities only and exclusively in the year reported on the plate itself and the production ended at the end of the year with the destruction of the original shape that made it so impossible to reproduce.
To guarantee authenticity, the plate bears the mark of Bing&Grondahl with the three towers, inspired by the emblem of the city of Copenhagen, and the initials of the painter.
The plate measures 15 cm. in diameter and on the back presents the two holes made by Bing&Grondahl during production to hang it.
