The Christmas plate of 1968 is the 61st in the series of famous Royal Copenhagen plates and is titled "The Last Umiak". The pattern reproduced is in relief and the plate is decorated by hand in the classic cobalt blue shades applied undercoat.
The plate was produced in limited quantities only and exclusively in the year reported on the plate itself and the production ended at the end of the year with the destruction of the original shape that made it so impossible to reproduce.
To guarantee authenticity, the plate bears the mark of Royal Copenhagen, the Crown over the three Wavy Lines and the initials of the painter.
The plate measures 18 cm. in diameter and on the back presents the two holes drilled by the Royal Copenhagen during production to hang it.
NB: The plate of this listing has been marked as second choice by Royal Copenhagen as it does not comply with the strict quality standards of the company. It can therefore present imperfections. But these do not jeopardize the beauty and the quality of the processing and sometimes they are so minimal that the plate is practically the same as the first choice.
