Description

ROYAL COPENHAGEN ANNUAL MUG 1981, LARGE

Royal Copenhagen, "Den Kongelige Porcelainsfabrik", was founded in 1775 under the patronage of the Royal House of Denmark. It is one of the oldest porcelain factory in the world, still in business. The tradition of Christmas Plate began in 1908 with the dish "Mary and child", created by artist Christian Thomsen. Since then, year after year, Royal Copenhagen has released a new Christmas Dish that has become a Christmas tradition in solid homes all over the world.

Every year since 1967, the Royal Copenhagen produces two cups, one large and one small, decorated with the same design. In this listing is presented the big Cup of the year 1981, designed by Ellen Malmer.

The mug is produced in limited quantities and production ends at the end of the year with the destruction of the original shape, that makes, therefore, impossible to playback.

Guarantee of authenticity the Cup bears the mark of Royal Copenhagen, the Crown over three wavy lines, and the initials of the artist.

The Cup measure cm. height 12 cm. 10 in diameter.
